Let’s talk Pig

As part of the project’s inauguration “Malley en quartiers”, the association Architecture, alimentation et urbanisme presents “Let’s talk Pig” three cultural propositions around the pig: a lecture by medievalist historian Michel Pastoureau, a practical workshop with chef Philippe Ligron and a screening of Jacqueline Veuve and Yves Yersin’s documentary “Le Panier à viande” (1966).

Let’s reflect together on our representations of this “unloved cousin of man” as well as its flesh consumption, in particular on the occasion of Saint-Martin, at a time when, in Switzerland, only two thirds of a slaughtered animal are eaten today.

With the collaborations of l’Alimentarium de Vevey, l’École Technique – École des Métiers de Lausanne, Happymeat. l’ Institut des humanités en médecine, le Théâtre Kléber-Méleau et la Cinémathèque suisse
