During this introductory workshop Matière Brute, push open the door to l’Aromathèque, A veritable spice paradise nestled in the heart of Lausanne. Meet Lukas, the spice specialist, surrounded by walls of colourful jars brimming with flavours and aromas from near and far. He’ll tell you about his journey and share his passion for spices by helping you create a homemade curry, which you’ll take home with you at the end of the workshop.
After an introduction in the form of a sensory game, you’ll explore the different stages of production: working together to develop the recipe, roasting the spices, preparing the curry base, then customising your blend — milder, spicier or sweeter — before bottling it. And there you have it!

This afternoon, the official mushroom inspector and his colleagues will be waiting for you in the upper part of the town. Meet at the Chalet-à-Gobet to comb through the undergrowth in search of chanterelles, boletes and other edible mushrooms. Once the foraging is complete, there will be an official inspection to identify and remove any poisonous or inedible species. The remaining mushrooms will be used for your omelette the following day. After the inspection, it’s time for drinks and fondue. To be enjoyed outdoors if the weather permits, or in the multipurpose hall at Le Bocal, the haven for the City of Lausanne’s foresters.
